DOKOLO - On day two of his presidential campaign trail in Dokolo district, President Yoweri Museveni told all families to join the money economy using the Parish Development Model (PDM).

"However, we shall also continue with other interventions, as the PDM money might not be enough, for instance, to dig a fish pond," he says, adding that in Lango, Teso, Bukedi, and Busoga, where the swamps are located, people can establish fish ponds and achieve significant production of fish.

The President also appealed to the people of Dokolo and the Lango Sub-region in general to support his candidature.

"I urge the people of Lango to kindly support the NRM once more. The NRM is not just talkers; we are doers."

Speaking to the crowds, most leaders commended President Museveni and his government for the peace, development, and wealth creation programs he has steered over the years.

The President told the jubilant crowd that the government will upgrade the road from Dokolo to Namasale, cutting direct mileage to Kampala.

“This is all dongo lobo—roads, schools, electricity. But the real battle is lonyo. Even in Baralege, where I live, I may not have tarmac roads, but I have wealth-cows, coffee, and fruits. That is what we want for every homestead: wealth for food and income.”

The Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among and Balaam Barugahara, the state minister for children and youth affairs, joined entertainers on the stage.

Hamson Obua, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, and Richard Todwong, the NRM Secretary General, also hailed the President for bringing peace and socio-economic development to the region.
