Isingiro North marks NRM landslide with victory celebration

Thousands of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters gathered at Kyeirumba Playground in Masha subcounty, Isingiro district, on August 19, 2026, to celebrate the party's victory in Isingiro North County.
Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo represented President Yoweri Museveni at the high-profile gathering, which was attended by government ministers, Members of Parliament and local leaders.
President Museveni praised the NRM leadership in the area for driving grassroots economic growth and meeting public expectations.
He urged residents of Isingiro district and their leaders to focus on unity and wealth creation.
Alupo commended the Isingiro district leadership for properly using public funds to deliver services to the community.
She also confirmed that requests made by local leaders during a recent meeting, including a plan to upgrade Rwekuubo Health Centre IV into a district hospital, had been delivered directly to President Yoweri Museveni.

Isingiro North County led Isingiro district with 98.7% of the vote for NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during the presidential elections. This made it the top-performing constituency among the district's five areas, ahead of the overall district average of 98.3%.
In his speech, State Minister for Animal Industry and MP for Isingiro North County, Lt Col Bright Rwamirama, thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's government for its consistent service delivery, which he said had built voter trust over the years. He also challenged the community to utilise existing government wealth-creation programmes to improve household incomes.
Moses Mushabe, the Isingiro district NRM chairman and NRM Central Executive Committee member, said the celebrated victory was a clear message from the people of Isingiro North that they continue to believe in the leadership, peace, stability and development agenda under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM government.
Isingiro district chairperson Alone Turahi attributed the recent electoral victory to tangible government investments in local livelihoods, citing visible progress in people's farms, roads, schools, health facilities and community development.
Other district leaders, including area MPs, committed to rallying behind President Yoweri Museveni's fight against corruption.
