Court sets date for hearing of election petition against Minister Kyofatogabye
In the case, which was before visiting High Court Judge Samuel Emokor, Mayanja wants court to declare him the winner of the Nakaseke Central seat.

The hearing of a petition in which National Unity Platform candidate Allan Mayanja is challenging the election of Kampala state minister Kabuye Kyofatogabye as Nakaseke Central Member of Parliament has been fixed.
The High Court sitting in Luwero on Tuesday (September 15) set between October 12 and 16 as the hearing dates for the petition.
In the case, which was before visiting High Court judge Samuel Emokor, Mayanja wants court to declare him the winner of the Nakaseke Central seat.
Kyofatogabye, who stood on the National Resistance Movement ticket, was declared the winner in the January 15, 2026, election with 13,685 votes against Mayanja's 8,178 votes.

Mayanja sued Kyofatogabye alongside the Electoral Commission.
The petitioner was also given three days within which he is required to file a report from a handwriting expert after alleging that eight of the declaration forms were "manufactured."
Mayanja asserts that he won, but his victory was grabbed by Kyofatogabye. "We expect justice from court," Mayanja told journalists outside court.
Kyofatogabye's lawyers, led by Eddie Ssansa, said they were ready to defend their client's win. "Our evidence is already on court record," Ssansa said.
