Battle for Ssenyonyi’s job rocks Opposition

Many of the newly elected MPs — especially those who have never belonged to any other political party before joining NUP — are said to be firmly behind Ssenyonyi. One NUP legislator spoke passionately about Ssenyonyi’s track record.

Under the rules governing the House, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament must come from the party with the largest number of opposition MPs.
