The secretary for security at Azia cell, Pangisa ward in Arua Central Division, Vincent Leku, has urged residents of the area to take the issue of voting seriously ahead of the forthcoming LC 1 elections on July 28, 2026.
Leku says those who fail to register are the ones who will cause problems during elections.
He warns individuals planning to disrupt the elections that security will be tight and the police will be deployed to ensure peaceful elections.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adriko, a resident of central division Arua City, says the local council elections are very important because LCs work directly with the people at the grassroots, encouraging people to elect good leaders.
The current LC1 and LC2 leaders were elected in 2018, and their term officially expired in 2023.
