The Electoral Commission (EC) has banned processions to its presidential nomination venue in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
EC says it has allowed only 20 people to accompany each aspirant when coming for the exercise.
The presidential nominations are scheduled for tomorrow, September 23 and 24, this year at the EC's new headquarters in Wakiso.
"The aspirant shall be allowed into the nomination venue accompanied by not more than 20 persons, including the aspirant himself/herself," he said.
According to Byabakama, the particulars of persons accompanying the aspirant shall be submitted to the EC in advance.
"An aspiring candidate will only use two vehicles for purposes of his/her nomination, and each vehicle shall not carry more than 10 persons, driver inclusive. Each of the vehicles shall bear a Police sticker," he stated.
Byabakama strongly warned aspirants from mobilising supporters to accompany them to and from the nomination venue, as processions are not permitted during the exercise.

Upon successful nominations, candidates who wish to meet with their supporters to launch their manifestos are advised by the EC to organise and conduct such meetings in full compliance with traffic regulations and laws governing public assemblies.
The development comes as the National Unity Platform party leader, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party counterpart, Maj. Gen. (rtd) Mugisha Muntu, race against time to collect the missing signatures for nominations.
