Pastor Patience Rwabwogo to be ordained Bishop in August

Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, founder and lead pastor of Covenant Nations Church (CNC), will be consecrated in August as an Episcopal Bishop of Covenant Nations Churches in Uganda and beyond.
The August 23, 2026, consecration of Pastor Patience, who is also the daughter of President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Mrs Janet Museveni, will coincide with the 20th anniversary celebrations of the CNC located in Luzira, Kampala.
President Museveni has continuously commended Pastor Patience for being hardworking and preaching the gospel.
“I thank the Lord because she is in my trail of preaching the gospel and also multiplying the talent,” Museveni said on May 18, 2024, during the “Light Up Ankole For Jesus Mission.”
The August 23rd consecration will bring together local and international religious leaders, worshippers and political dignitaries for what organisers describe as a landmark moment in the ministry's history.
The consecration will be presided over by internationally renowned American evangelist Bishop Dr LaDonna Osborne.
Close sources revealed that other dignitaries at the events will include Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye and Pastor Folu Adeboye, whom Pastor Patience regards as her spiritual parents.
Worship ministers Emmanuel Roro and Helen Yilma from Israel are also set to minister during the event.
In a recorded video message, Pastor Rwabogo indicated that the anniversary marks the culmination of two decades of what she described as God's faithfulness to a ministry that began as a small house fellowship.
"The year began with the assurance from Luke 1:37 that 'nothing will be impossible with God,' and we have watched that promise unfold before our eyes," she said.
Pastor Patience added, "As we look back over 20 years, we are overwhelmed by God's goodness. Covenant Nations Church has exceeded every expectation, growing from a humble house church into a ministry touching lives across Uganda and beyond."
"This is not about personal promotion. As Scripture reminds us, promotion comes from the Lord. I receive this calling with humility and gratitude because it carries greater responsibility to serve God's people," Pastor Patience said.
"I invite believers from Uganda and across the nations to celebrate with us as we give thanks not only for what God has done through Covenant Nations Church but also for His faithfulness to my family and to this ministry."
In a televised message, Bishop Osborne celebrated that Pastor Patience's ministry has become one of Uganda's significant Christian voices.
"Pastor Patience is one of Uganda's outstanding Christian leaders whose ministry continues to transform lives both within this nation and beyond its borders," Osborne said while encouraging Christians from across the country to attend the consecration.
"Many people may not yet fully appreciate the scope of what God is doing through Covenant Nations Church. This consecration offers an opportunity to witness that work firsthand. I encourage believers everywhere to come, to pray with us, and to see the vision God continues to unfold for Uganda."
Bishop Osborne added that she expects the gathering to have significance beyond the ordination itself.
"I believe this will be more than a church ceremony. It will be a moment of blessing not only for Covenant Nations Church but for Uganda and for the nations represented. We are trusting God to reveal his purposes in a fresh way,” Osborne said.
Osborne’s visit to Uganda for the second time in less than two years carries historical significance for Uganda's Christian community.

She is the daughter of renowned American evangelists Dr T.L. Osborne and Dr Daisy Washburn Osborne, whose ministry left a lasting imprint on Uganda during the mid-1980s.
Their evangelistic campaigns drew thousands during a period of political transition and helped shape the growth of Pentecostal and evangelical Christianity in the country.
More than four decades later, Bishop Osborne has maintained close ties with Uganda's church community.
The convention concluded with a national prayer service attended by President Museveni, First Lady Janet Museveni and church leaders from different denominations.
During the closing ceremony, Bishop Osborne joined the President and First Lady in dedicating Uganda to God. Religious leaders also offered prayers for national repentance, justice, peace, protection of natural resources and respect for human life.
In the run-up to the Light Up Uganda Gospel Convention at Kololo, Pastor Patience, together with her husband, Odrek Rwabwogo, spent months mobilising Pentecostal pastors, Anglican bishops and other church leaders through regional revival meetings ahead of the national gathering.
The Covenant Nations Church:
Since founding Covenant Nations Church nearly two decades ago, Pastor Patience has built the ministry around biblical teaching, discipleship, leadership development, prayer and worship, while encouraging Christians to apply their faith in public life and community service.
Religious leaders, including the former general overseer of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda, Bishop Joshua Lwere, have praised Pastor Patience's discipleship, which is central to the church's mission.
Pastor Patience’s ministry through Bible teaching, conferences, mentorship programmes and leadership seminars has encouraged believers to translate faith into ethical leadership, professional excellence and service within their communities.
Youth ministry has also become a defining feature of Covenant Nations Church. Pastor Patience has consistently challenged students and young professionals to discover their purpose through biblical teaching.
In 2025, she launched the Kampala International University Christian Union Fellowship, urging university students to use their academic years as a foundation for lifelong spiritual growth and responsible leadership.
Beyond spiritual formation, she has advocated entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and responsible stewardship, encouraging churches to equip believers with practical skills alongside spiritual instruction.
Covenant Nations Church has also become known for organising the Light Up Uganda for Jesus evangelistic mission, bringing together Christians from different denominations in worship, prayer and evangelism. Such gospel campaigns, even at regional level, have attracted thousands of worshippers and church leaders from across western Uganda.
Throughout her ministry, Pastor Patience has consistently maintained that the church should remain accessible to people from every social and economic background while encouraging Christians to influence leadership, education, family life and national development through biblical values.
