South Ankole Anglican Diocese Bishop has cautioned men to work for their families because prayers alone cannot. According to the Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, God appreciates hard-working men.

Ahimbisibwe was speaking during his annual pastoral visit to St Mark’s Nyakyera Church of Uganda in Rukoni archdeaconry on Monday.

The man of God also encouraged Christians to work hard for their families because God doesn’t want lazy and poor men who spend the whole month without earning a single shilling in their pocket. He urged them to go for self-help projects such as fruit growing, coffee and farming where they can get an income to sustain their families and as well as educate their children.

The Bishop also confirmed 172 Christians into the Anglican faith and urged them to accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour if they are to succeed in everything.

The bishop who was also accompanied by his family, also thanked the Christians of Nyakyera COU led by the Rev. Fred Gumisiriza for having started a project of constructing a modern church with a capacity of almost 4,000 people. According to him, this glorifies God which he blessed.

He also thanked a group of Nyakyera COU-Kampala chapter led by Medered Turyamusiima and Eng. Jackson Mubangizi Kabikire for mobilising funds for a new car for Gumisiriza to ease his movement.

The bishop also thanked the Headmaster of Mama Janet Girls’ Sen. Sec. School Nyakyera, Abert Kamuntu, the staff and entire team that he works with for the school’s progress in promoting the girl child education.

The bishop’s pastoral visit service was attended by, among others, Rukoni archdeacon the Ven. Rev. Can. Joash Tushangomujuni, Chaplain Mama Janet Girls’ School the Rev. Mary Patra, Ruhaama east area Member of Parliament Benjamin Kamukama Katangura and Gloria Kamayangi the assistant clerk to Parliament.
