Former Bank of Uganda deputy governor dead

Perez Tenywa Bukumunhe, the former Bank of Uganda deputy governor, has died today (July 2) morning.

A prominent banker, author, and politician, Bukumnhe has been living at his home town of Busesa in Bugweri District.

He served as the deputy governor of the Bank of Uganda from 1986 to 1990. Bukumunhe also served as a member of the Constituent Assembly between 1993 and 1996.

He also served as the Chairperson of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority. He was the father of former New Vision lifestyle Editor, Timothy Bukumunhe.
