Prateek Suri recently presented his memoirGateway to Africa, to the President of the Central African Republic (CAR), Faustin-Archange Touadéra, during a high-level meeting focused on investment, mining expansion, and long-term economic cooperation in Africa.

The interaction took place as MDR Investments, part of Maser group, continues to strengthen its presence across Africa following recent gold mining interests in the Central African Republic and Ghana. Alongside discussions around mining, infrastructure, renewable energy and healthcare, Suri also shared the personal story behind his entrepreneurial journey through his memoir.

Gateway to Africa documents Suri’s rise from his early struggles as a young entrepreneur to building business operations across Africa through Maser Group and MDR Investments. The book highlights his experiences navigating risks, opportunities and challenges while building one of the fastest-growing Africa-focused business groups across sectors, including consumer electronics, logistics, infrastructure, mining and technology investments.

During the meeting, Suri briefly shared with President Touadéra how Africa became a turning point in his life and business journey. He explained that the memoir was written not only as a business story, but also as a message of resilience, ambition and belief for young entrepreneurs globally.

President Touadéra acknowledged the gesture warmly and welcomed the growing commitment of international investors and entrepreneurs contributing toward Africa’s long-term economic development. Sources close to the meeting indicated that the President appreciated the broader vision reflected both in the book and in MDR Investments’ expanding activities across the continent.

The meeting also reflected growing investor confidence in the Central African Republic and wider African markets, particularly in sectors linked to mining, clean energy, infrastructure and digital transformation. MDR Investments has increasingly positioned itself as a long-term Africa-focused investment platform pursuing large-scale opportunities through strategic partnerships and development-led projects.

Beyond business expansion, Suri also highlighted the work being carried out through the Maser Foundation, focused on healthcare, women empowerment and child education initiatives across Africa. He emphasised that creating meaningful social impact remains equally important alongside commercial growth.

Often described as one of the richest Indians based in Africa and among the continent’s youngest billionaire entrepreneurs, Suri continues to expand his influence across Africa through business, infrastructure, technology investments and philanthropy, while increasingly using his personal journey to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.
