Elizabeth Babirye and Catherine Priscilla Nakato turned 90 on Thursday (July 27 2023). The twins celebrated their birthday by visiting Vision Group offices.

Smartly dressed in hot pink dresses, light pink jewellery, white sneakers, and holding white clutch bags, the twins danced and jubilated amidst cheers from journalists.

“We thank God for enabling us to live this long,” Nakato said

The fraternal twins were in the company of their daughter Esther Kasamani and their son Bishop Harry Moris Bukenya of Eden Revival Church in Wandegeya.

 Fraternal twins are conceived when two eggs (ova) are produced and fertilized by two separate sperm to form two genetically unique babies. The babies grow in separate sacks and have different placentas. Sometimes the babies same sex as the case is for Babirye and Nakato. Others end up being of mixed sex (boy and girl).

 The Vision Group Editor-in-Chief Barbra Kaija congratulated the twins and lauded them for ageing gracefully. “It is rare to find twins who are taken good care of, are strong and mothers,” Kaija said.

She also commended the twins for being born again. The duo prays at Eden Revival Church in Wandegeya a Kampala suburb.

Their visit launched Vision Group’s annual Twins Festival. Throughout August, Vision Group publishes stories of twins or multiples across all its platforms. The annual tradition is aimed at celebrating the blessing of twins.

As part of their birthday celebration, the twins were hosted to dinner at Café Java’s in Kamwokya.
