“All of you should reapply whether you have a license already or not,” Tumukunde said during the ministers’ meeting with external recruitment agencies and pre-departure orientation and training institutions in Kampala, adding, “If I find people outside Uganda suffering, should I find that you are the one who exported them without a license, you know you are in danger.”
A total of 351,042 Ugandan migrant workers were deployed abroad between 2016 and May 2026, comprising 294,011 women and 57,031 men.
