This is the maiden budget speech by newly appointed finance minister, Henry Musasizi, after the Ministry of Finance finalised preparations for the sh84.4 trillion budget reading.
“Ahead of the Budget speech reading today, we are pleased to share with you the background to the budget that will be presented by the Finance Minister Henry Musasizi,” the ministry said earlier in a tweet on X.
The budget presentation is being attended by selected government officials, diplomats, private sector representatives and members of the public. The speech is also being streamed live across Vision Group broadcast and digital platforms.
The budget carries the theme: “Full Monetization of the Ugandan Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expanding and Broadening Services, Digital Transformation and Market Access.”
