SOROTI - Police in Soroti West Division have launched investigations to identify those responsible for the killing of Moses Ejou, an instructor at the Vocational Training Institute (VTI) in Soroti city.
Ejou was reportedly attacked at his rented residence in Nakatunya, Soroti City West, on Easter Monday night by unknown individuals.
Students heading to school on the morning of April 22, 2025, found Ejou lying in a pool of blood outside his house and immediately alerted the authorities.
Efforts to save his life at Soroti Regional Hospital, where he was rushed for treatment on Tuesday morning, were unsuccessful. Doctors pronounced him dead later that evening.
“For now, we do not have any suspect arrested in connection to that case; however, we have launched investigations and we shall update the community on the findings later,” said Rashid Byansi, the DPC of Soroti City West.
The principal of the college, Eng. Julius Apedu stated that a CT scan conducted at Soroti Regional Hospital revealed Ejou’s skull had been damaged.
“After a few minutes of the CT scan, Ejou died. The postmortem is yet to be conducted,” Eng. Apedu said.
He also noted that excessive bleeding could have contributed to Ejou’s death.
Ejou served as an instructor in the Department of Automotive Mechanics and was also a patron of the Scouts Club.
He was a native of Kapelebyong district and is survived by his wife and children.
