The eagerly awaited rescheduled final match between Amus College School and Kobulubulu Secondary School to decide the champion of the USSSA-Teso zone is set to captivate audiences on Sunday at Ngora High School.

The USSSA Teso Zone boys’ final will be graced by the Sports Minister, Peter Ogwang, and will be accompanied by the USSSA delegation.

Amus College School of Bukedea and Kobulubulu SS of Kaberamaido districts reached the finals after crushing their opponents in the semifinals.

In the semifinal, Amus College School beat hosts Ngora High School 1-0, while Kobulubulu Secondary School from Kaberamaido district knocked out Bukedea Comprehensive School on penalty shoot-outs 8-7 after a goalless draw in normal time in the semi-finals.

The rescheduled final promises to be a spectacle of athleticism and determination as both teams, Amus College School and Kobulubulu Secondary School, vie for the coveted championship title. Following an intense journey through the tournament, these two teams have emerged as true contenders, showcasing remarkable skill, resilience, and sportsmanship

Amus College School and Kobulubulu Secondary School last met in 2016 in the semi-final of the USSSA-Teso Zone qualifiers held in Kaberamaido district and Amus beat them 1-0.

“We’re preparing with laser focus. This isn’t about making friends on the field. It’s about business. We respect Kobulubulu Secondary School, no doubt about it. But when we step onto that pitch, it’s all about executing our game plan and coming out on top,” Amus College School head coach Nimrod Kintu said.

However, Kobulubulu SS games teacher Moses Edyangu is confident of his boys saying it will be a battle of the zone.

“I remember very well that in 2016 Kobulubulu met Amus College in semifinals and they beat us, but this time we shall not accept it easily," adds Edyangu

John Robert Osuu, the president of USSSA-Teso Zone said it's worth extending heartfelt appreciation to Minister Peter Ogwang for honouring this final with his presence. His support and encouragement will undoubtedly inspire the players and further elevate the spirit of competition on the field.
