SC Villa will throw everything at Busoga United as they seek to return to their winning ways in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League today at Wankulukuku Stadium.
They will be playing their eighth game of the season where they managed to register two wins, drawn three, and lost twice.
Villa settled for a goalless draw against Mbarara City in their previous game and their coach Dusan Stojanovic believes they are improving.
"We are not playing badly. We only failed to win our previous game because we didn't take away the chances we created. But this is an area we have improved. Despite being at home, it doesn't mean it will be an easy game. The good thing, is we didn't concede in the previous game and want to keep the clean sheet," stated Stojanovic.
"We are at home and we want to perform well. We have tried to rectify our mistakes and we are now good to go. We want to see that we win with more goals."
Villa is tenth with nine points, one above ninth-placed Busoga United.
Kenneth Ssemakula and Umar Lutalo will be some of the players Villa will rely on among others.
Busoga United comes into today's encounter with confidence having earlier beaten KCCA 2-1.
The Jinja-based side has had inconsistent performances away from home. Out of the four games they have played, they have won twice against Arua Hill (1-0) and Gaddafi(1-0). They have lost the other two games against Soltilo Bright Stars (3-2) and NEC (5-0).
Veteran defender Isaac Isinde who was the man of the match against KCCA will be expected to replicate the same performance just like Ronald Kasamba and Emmanuel Ajo. The duo were on the score sheet against KCCA.
Coach Vincent Lukyamuzi has called upon his charges to be aware of the challenge ahead of them and treat it with the deserved respect.
“The players should be aware of how difficult it will be, so we have to respect them. SC Villa is a good team without a doubt but we also want to do better in this fixture. We have tried to improve on our mistakes,” reasoned Lukyamuzi.
Last season, Villa managed to take away six points from Busoga United.
Elsewhere, Soltilo Bright Stars will host Arua Hill at Kavumba Recreation ground in Wakiso district.
Bright Stars come into the game having settled to a 2all draw with Gaddafi while Arua Hill picked their first win as they defeated UPDF 2-0 in their previous game.
