Brian Kwesiga has been appointed as the General Manager of the Uganda Lacrosse Men’s Senior National Team ahead of the World Lacrosse Championship set for June to July in Sandiego California.

Kwesiga is the first Uganda to take over this role and is expected to help build a more sustainable pathway toward the 2028 Olympic Games.

“Brian has been instrumental in managing the relationships between Uganda Lacrosse Association(ULA) and our donor base, establishing a sustainable path towards the dream of Uganda lacrosse participating at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California as well as staying as the number one Lacrosse program in Africa,” said Kenneth Kasule, the Acting ULA President.

He is a US-based engineer who has previously served as the president and CEO of the Ugandan North American Association where his mobilisation skills tripled the membership in the association. He brought in a host of corporate sponsorships that changed the trajectory of the organisation.

His track record is what a growing sport like Lacrosse needs and he cannot wait to get to work pushing the sport to new heights.

“I am honored and humbled to have been selected for this opportunity to be part of the storied Uganda Lacrosse program. I am eager to learn from and work with the Uganda Lacrosse community as we prepare to showcase the exciting game played by Uganda lacrosse on the global stage in San Diego this summer. Go Cranes,” said Kwesiga.

He is already hard at work and has set up fundraisers for the team that is looking to raise 100,000usd. They have so far raised 30,000usd and have implored Ugandans from abroad and locally to help with raising the funds.

He was born in Rukungiri but has now lived in the United States for over 20 years. He moved there as a teenager after finishing O’level at Kibuli SSS.
