UG@59: City roads decorated as Uganda marks her 59th Independence

Apart from Kampala road, other roads like; Entebbe road, Nile Avenue, Jinja road, among others were also decorated.

KAMPALA - As Uganda marked her 59th anniversary of self-rule, the Uganda flag has been decorated along main roads in Kampala City.

The Uganda flag is made up of three colours namely; Black, Yellow and Red. Black represents the native ethnic group of Africa, Yellow, Africa's sunshine and Red signifies African brotherhood. 

Apart from Kampala road, other roads like; Entebbe road, Nile Avenue, Jinja road, among others were also decorated.

The 59th Independence Day anniversary was celebrated under the theme; “Celebrating our 59th Independence Day as we secure our future through national mindset change.”

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was the main celebrant of the event that took place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
