UG@59: More leaders send Independence Day messages

More world leaders have congratulated President Yoweri Museveni and the people of Uganda on the 59th Independence Day anniversary.

KAMPALA - More world leaders have congratulated President Yoweri Museveni and the people of Uganda on the 59th Independence Day anniversary.
The leaders, according to a release from State House, include Ram Nath Kovind of the Republic of India, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez (president of the Republic of Cuba) and Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (president of the United Arab Emirates).
Others are the vice-president of the United Arab Emirates and Prime Minister Ruler of Dubai, Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, plus the chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Burhan Abdel Rahman.

“On behalf of the government and people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to convey warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency, the Government and people of Uganda on the occasion of your Independence Day. My best wishes for your personal health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Uganda,” he said.
He added that India and Uganda enjoy traditionally close and cordial ties, which have grown from strength to strength over the years.
He said he is confident that a mutually focused partnership between the two countries will continue to grow under Museveni’s leadership.

“President, on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Uganda, I extend my cordial congratulations,” he said in a message.
Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished President Museveni and the people of Uganda progress and prosperity.
“It is my pleasure and honour to express to Your Excellency the most sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of commemorating the Independence of the Republic of Uganda, and to Your Excellency good health and happiness, and to the government and friendly people of the Republic of Uganda further progress and prosperity,” he said.
Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who wished Uganda progress and prosperity, added: “It is my pleasure and honour to express to Your Excellency the most sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of commemorating the Independence of the Republic of Uganda,” he said in a message.
Abdel Fattah Al Burhan Abdel Rahman wished the President and the people of Uganda progress and development.
“I am honoured, as your country celebrates its Independence Day, to convey to you, on behalf of myself and the Sudanese people, my sincere congratulations and best wishes for further progress and development to your friendly people and to you with good health and happiness,” he said in a message to the President.
He added: “I take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the sincere brotherhood and distinguished relations of co-operation that bind our two countries, assuring you of my keenness to strengthen and upgrade them for the benefit and interest of our two friendly peoples.”
