The suspects, identified as Rodgers Tukahirwa and Darius Nasasira, were apprehended following the killing of Richard Arinaitwe, a resident of Bwizibwera Lower in Mbarara's Rwanyamahembe Town Council-Kashari South County.
According to police reports, Arinaitwe was killed at an unknown time on September 7, 2026. The attackers severed his head and later dumped it on Sibyangu Street in Bwizibwera Cell.

The discovery followed a report made by a local resident, Innocent Gumisiriza, to the Local Council chairperson, who subsequently alerted Bwizibwera Police Station.
At approximately 3:20pm, police recovered the remains at the scene, where a relative, Honest Asiimwe, positively identified them as belonging to her son, Arinaitwe.
A police canine unit was deployed at the site, and it successfully tracked down the two suspects, who were arrested.
The deceased's body was taken to the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Speaking to journalists today (September 8), Rwizi Region Police spokesperson Samson Kasasira said police have launched a full investigation into the motive behind the murder as the suspects remain in custody.
