Police in Mukono have recovered a firearm that was stolen from Mukono district and arrested three suspects in connection with the theft.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala said the arrests followed a report by Cheetah Security Company at Mukono Police Station on February 6, 2026, regarding the theft of one of its firearms.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, Robert Mbabajje, a male adult and security guard employed by Cheetah Security Company, fraudulently obtained the firearm from his company supervisor at the company offices in Mukono through deceitful means,” Kawala said.
She explained that following intelligence-led operations, Mbabajje was arrested in Kajjansi with the assistance of his associate, Parker Scoott.
“A subsequent search conducted at the suspects’ premises in Kajansi led to the successful recovery of the stolen firearm,” she added.
Kawala said the three suspects arrested were identified as Robert Mbabajje, a security guard with Cheetah Security Company, Blessing Kasongo and Parker Scoott, all residents of Kitende A cell, Kajjansi, Wakiso district.
She said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
