A total of eight schools, Amus College, Bukedea Comprehensive, Kobulubulu, Ngora High, Onset SS, and Labira Girls SS have secured qualification for the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association National Boys and Girls’ Football.

Amus College School, Bukedea Comprehensive, Ngora High School, and Bukedea Comprehensive will present Teso- zone in the boy’s championship in Masaka, while Amus College, Onset SS, Labira Girls SS, and Bukedea Comprehensive will represent the region in girls’ football at Ndejje University.

The listed schools showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the just concluded Uganda Secondary School’s Sports Association –Teso zone qualifiers in the Ngora district. Their commitment to excellence has earned them a well-deserved place among the nation’s finest competitors.

The USSSA -National Games in Masaka and Ndejje are not only a platform for athletes’ prowess but also an opportunity for students to foster camaraderie, leadership, and personal growth. Participating in such a prestigious event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, coaches, and supporters of these schools.

It’s the second time Amus College School, Bukedea Comprehensive School, and Ngora High School have made it to the championships, while it will be the first time Kobulubulu Secondary School will represent the Teso zone at the national level.

Teso Progressive, Light Secondary School, Teso College, and Nyero Rock were unlucky not to secure qualification for the highly anticipated national boy’s tournament in Masaka having lost their bid in the quarterfinals.

“The journey to the national stage is often fraught with challenges, and these schools have displayed admirable resilience and skill throughout their participation in the regional competition and now looking at the national level,” John Robert Osuu, president of Teso zone said.

According to Osuu, the four boys’ and girls’ teams will be able to compete favorably at nationals and looking forward to lifting the national trophy again.
