Teso cultural leader visits Gen Saleh over Among fate

The Iteso Cultural Union leader, Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot, has today (July 20) led a delegation to visit the chief coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and senior presidential advisor on security matters, Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho alias Salim Saleh.
During the meeting, the leaders sought Saleh’s intervention regarding the situation facing former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, according to a statement from OWC.
The meeting was attended by Iteso cultural leaders, clan elders, Members of Parliament (MPs) and regional stakeholders at Saleh’s residence in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District.

“The delegation included the vice chairperson of the Teso Parliamentary Group, Emmanuel Omoding, alongside MPs; Margaret Etilu, Samuel Ediau, Constantine Okwii and David Beecham Okwere, underscoring the unity and collective commitment of Teso leaders in pursuing dialogue and engagement on matters affecting one of the region’s prominent leaders,” the statement said.
Emolot earlier visited Among at her residence along MacKinnon Road in Nakasero following investigations related to alleged abuse of office, corruption and money laundering. Investigators also searched her homes at Kigo in Wakiso district and in Bukedea district.
Recently, it emerged that Among, who has been under house arrest since May this year, was unwell and she was seeking permission to go abroad for treatment.
