Sipapa, wife put on defence over sh1.6b Bunga robbery
Court heard that police searched the house in the presence of Namuyimba, who was at home at the time, and recovered phones and laptops allegedly stolen from the complainants.

The High Court in Kampala has found a prima facie case against socialite Charles Olimu Sipapa and his wife, Shamira Namuyimba, over the alleged robbery of $429,000 (about sh1.6b) and other valuables from a house in Bunga-Kawuku, Kampala.
Justice Michael Elubu made the revelation on September 21, 2026, after the prosecution presented 23 witnesses in the case.
The judge consequently ordered Sipapa and Namuyimba to file their defence on five counts of aggravated robbery and six counts of money laundering.
Prosecution alleges that on August 29, 2022, the accused persons robbed cash, jewellery, laptops, iPhones and other electronic items from a house in Bunga-Kawuku, Makindye Division.
It is further alleged that immediately before or after the robbery, the victims, Arok Nul, Deng Arok, James Manyok and Mary Ateng, were given a substance called brallobarbital, which rendered them unconscious.
According to the prosecution evidence, the occupants woke up the following morning and found the house had been broken into and valuables, including more than $429,000, were missing.
Prosecution told court that investigations led police to a house on Kityo Close in Buwate, Kira Division, Kampala, after the “Find My Phone” application on the stolen phones was activated.
It is further alleged that immediately before or after the robbery, the victims, Arok Nul, Deng Arok, James Manyok and Mary Ateng, were given a substance called brallobarbital, which rendered them unconscious.

The prosecution team further presented evidence that fingerprints lifted from an envelope recovered at the scene matched those of Sipapa.
Sipapa was not at the house when police conducted the search, but was later arrested, while Namuyimba was arrested following the search.
