Warning against adultery, terrorism, and witchcraft, among other vices,  Sheikh Milaad Kaluma, one of the leaders at Nakasero Tabliq mosque headquarters, has urged Muslims to observe the practices and teachings of Prophet Muhammad in the Qur’an.

“Prophet Muhammad's teachings forbid terrorism and condemn adultery, emphasising peace, the sanctity of life, and the preservation of family integrity. I appeal to married men to respect their wives as well as women to submit to their husbands,” said  Sheikh Kaluma, who led Eid el-Fitr prayers at Madrasat Nuslat Islamia Primary School in Mbarara town on Friday.

Sheikh Ahmed SSenyange, the Western Region Amir (Tabliq), also appealed to the Government to look for alternative free-interest loan programs where Muslims can also benefit in the fight against poverty in their communities.

“Government has introduced good programs such as Emyooga and Parish Development programmes to support people in communities get out of poverty, but such programmes are not beneficial to Muslim communities because they accrue interest. Traditional loans, which accrue interest, are strictly prohibited in Islamic law,” he explains.

Ssenyange also urged  Muslim tabliqs and well-wishers to support the fundraising drive towards completion of a shs4b Masjid Noor 2 miles Nyamityobora construction project in Mbarara city.

According to Sheikh Thaakibu Kivumbi, the construction committee chairperson, over shs7m was raised by Muslims during Eid prayers, and over shs500m is still needed to complete the four-storeyed Masjid project. The funds for the construction project are raised locally by Mbarara Muslims under the Nuslat Islamia Association.
