Sheebah, Bebe Cool fire up Rotarians night

Saturday, April 20, was the climax of the three-day 99th Rotary District conference, with each night having a unique dress code. Saturday’s was inspired by America's Great Gatsby era.

It was pomp and glamour at Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo as Rotarians gathered for the 99th Rotary District conference that lasted for three days.
Saturday, April 20, was the climax of the three-day conference, with each night having a unique dress code. Saturday’s was inspired by America's Great Gatsby era.
For women, it was all about amazing vintage dresses, long and voluminous feathers accompanied by hats, not forgetting pearl neckless and elegant gloves.
Women paid attention to the dress code compared to men, who wore suits with black neckties.
It was mostly jazz music played as Rotarians made their entrance into the tent.
From inspirational speakers, the evening unfolded as Rotarians were treated to sumptuous meals and cocktails before they transitioned to elegant dining amid electrifying entertainment.
Among the guests who showed up was the former Minister for Works, Gen. Katumba Wamala.
As the night progressed, Shebaah Karungi came up on stage to light up the Rotarians with her sensational music. Her performance warmed up and thrilled the guests.

After Shebaah’s performance, District Governor Edward Kakembo took Rotarians into a momentous session, awarding several Rotary clubs for their performance in the D9213 99th Discon awards.
Kabaroole Rotary Club emerged as the Rotary Club of the Year 2023/24 community-based well as the Rotary Club of Upper Kololo scoped the award of the Club of the Year.
The Rotarians, renowned for their unwavering dedication to service above self, revealed their achievements and unity at the District Governor Banquet, which marked the finale of the three-day extravaganza.
The banquet also doubled a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing District Governor Edward Kakembo Nsubuga and a warm welcome to the new governor elect Ann Nkutu.

Rotarians also welcomed Simeo Sebukuru as their new District Rotaract Representative.
After the speeches, Bebe Cool and his band took over the stage picking up where Sheebah left off and delivering a show-stopping performance that sent Rotarians into a frenzy.
