KAMULI - Another school bus carrying students has been involved in a serious road crash in Kamuli district after colliding with a sugarcane truck along the Jinja–Kamuli Road on Thursday night, leaving several students injured as they returned from an educational trip.

The students from Nalango secondary school in Kamuli district were using a school bus belonging to Buzaya Secondary School (UAZ 463F) and were reportedly returning from an educational trip in Jinja when the crash occurred at around 10pm.

Eyewitnesses said several learners sustained fractures and other injuries before being rushed to Kamuli General Hospital and Busota Health Centre III for treatment.

By press time, police had not yet issued an official statement confirming the cause of the crash or the number of casualties and injuries.

The latest accident comes just hours after another school excursion bus carrying pupils of King David Junior School crashed along the Kapchorwa–Mbale Road, where at least 24 children were confirmed dead and dozens more injured.
