Seven perish in separate crashes in Kakumiro, Buliisa

Police in the Albertine region are investigating two separate fatal accidents that have claimed the lives of seven people.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, revealed that one of the accidents, which claimed five lives, occurred on Monday morning at around 8 am along the Hoima-Buhimba-Kakumiro Road at Kabaale Bridge.
The crash involved three vehicles: a Toyota Wish registration number UBL 887M, a drone taxi registration number UBL 450M, and another Toyota Wish whose number plate was yet to be identified at the time of reporting. Details of the deceased were also yet to be established.
Meanwhile, in Buliisa, Police are investigating another fatal accident that left two people dead in the escarpment (Kikonko) area along the Buliisa-Hoima Road.
The accident occurred on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at around 4:30 pm and involved a white Toyota lorry, registration number UBM 241G, which was transporting BIDCO products from Biiso town to Buliisa.
