The community of Serere district and the district councils of Teso gathered at Serere district headquarters on Friday to pay tribute to their fallen paramount chief, Emorimor Augustine Osuban Lemukol.

The councils were scheduled to conduct a special sitting, during which they would pay tribute to the late leader - just like it happened in Parliament last week.

“It is a joint council for us to pay our tribute,” said the district speaker of Soroti, Stephen Olebe.

Traditional dances were performed, followed by ecumenical prayers after the special council sitting.

Emorimor, who died at the age of 87 on February 5 in Kampala, will be buried Saturday in Serere district.

Present in Serere was the party president of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu.

Serere MPs Hellen Adoa, Elijah Okupa and Patrick Okabe were also present, as are all the LC5s from Teso.
