After a search operation lasting several hours at the home of outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among in Bukedea district on Friday, the security team left the mansion and drove off to the residence of her parents, about 20 kilometres away.
The latter home is located in Apopong village, Apopong parish in Kidongole sub-county.
Friday's operation is part of ongoing investigations into Among's alleged involvement in corruption and abuse of office.
Since last Saturday, various searches have been conducted by security investigators at the outgoing Speaker's homes in Kampala and Wakiso districts — where luxury cars and other unidentified items were recovered — and at her office at Parliament.

Among's lawyer, Caleb Alaka, has been present at the various locations where the searches have been done by teams from security agencies in one of the most high-profile probes in Uganda.
Alaka was again seen at the embattled Speaker's residence located in Aputput village, Aerere parish in Kamutur sub-county in Bukedea.
By the time he showed up at around 11:35 am, a convoy of seven security vehicles had already arrived at the premises two hours prior. The vehicles remained stationed outside the compound gate as security personnel maintained a visible presence in the area.
Outside the heavily guarded compound, residents, journalists and curious onlookers watched from a distance.
Police officers from the South Kyoga region later joined the operation, a deployment confirmed to
New Vision on phone by a senior police officer who preferred anonymity because he is not authorised to comment publicly.
Hours later, the convoy of security vehicles left Among's home and sped off to the next destination, which would later turn out to be her parents' residence.
The journalists camped outside Among's mansion were not addressed by anyone from the security team.
It was also not clear whether any items had been recovered during the search operation behind the property's high perimeter wall and heavily guarded locked gates.
Journalists trailed the convoy to the next destination.
