❝All parliamentary staff have been blocked from entering their offices and ordered to stay away as detectives and auditors from State House search former Speaker Anita Annet Among's office and of other senior staff. Other offices searched include that of the Clerk to the Parliament, Adolf Mwesige Kasaija.

Journalists followed the investigators but were later stopped from a distance. The search started at around 9am on Tuesday.

The ongoing probe was sanctioned by President Yoweri Museveni. The investigations at Parliament follow earlier searches at Among's residences in Kampala, where luxury vehicles and an unspecified amount of money have since been recovered.

A notice reading CRIME SCENE, DO NOT CROSS has been glued on the office entrance on the building's fifth floor.

Security has sealed off the office of outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among at Parliament as well as that of the Clerk to Parliament Adolf Mwesige Kasaija in an escalation of the investigation into corruption and money laundering allegations against Among.
