KAMPALA - The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) says it has started investigating corruption allegations against the Resident State Attorney of Mwanga II Court in Kampala.

“The ODPP is investigating the allegations, and appropriate action will be taken on the outcome,” an ODPP statement dated November 25, 2025, says.

ODPP spokesperson Jacquelyn Okui says the attention of the ODPP was drawn to corruption allegations against the attorneys from Dr Jim Spire’s X handle.

She, therefore, informed the public that the ODPP has a hierarchical complaints management mechanism that provides various avenues for registering complaints against its staff who operate out of order.

Okui said complaints should first be reported to the resident state attorney or resident state prosecutor in the jurisdiction where the grievance occurred, if they are not against the RSA or RSP.

“If the complainant is not satisfied with the decision of the Resident State Attorney or Resident State Prosecutor, or if the complaint is against the resident state attorney or resident state prosecutor, then the complaint should be reported to the Regional Officer in the same jurisdiction,” she explained.

Okui also says if the complainant is not satisfied with the decision of the Regional Officer, or if the complaint is against the Regional Officer, then the complaint should be reported to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at the Head Office in Kampala.
She advised the aggrieved persons to make use of this mechanism.

Okui said the ODPP underscores its unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability as core values guiding its decisions and service.

She said the DPP further reinforces his zero-tolerance policy toward corruption across all levels of operation. “The culpable will be brought to book.”
