The skin is an envelope that keeps one’s body. Like a mirror, skin reveals what is inside the body. The appearance of your skin reveals your overall health.
Many people labour to do away with the outside symptoms of the skin like the rushes. In reality, they should be worried about what is inside their bodies.
According to Dr Roger Pamplona, in ‘Encyclopedia of foods and their healing power,’ diet plays a prominent role in the condition of the skin.
“The skin cells are being replaced constantly,” he says. “Therefore they need a constant supply of nutrients for the production of new cells.”
Consequently, Dr Roger Pamplona says this makes the skin particularly sensitive to nutritional deficiencies especially proteins, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and C, iron and zinc.

Besides that, the skin acts as an eliminatory organ.
“The skin is referred to as the third kidney since it is actively involved in the body’s purifying processes,” he reveals. “Certain amounts of the toxins that circulate within the blood are eliminated through the skin.”
However, Dr Pamplona reveals when the eliminatory capability of the skin is overtaxed and there is an increased concentration of the toxins in the body. The body reacts by having bad skin. So, a diet based on junk funds like chips, sodas, cakes, and sausages can increase toxins in the body hence the bad skin.
Sometimes, the skin manifests the source of allergic reactions but some people ignore it.
Therefore, for a person to have good skin, they should increase all fruit intake, which aids in the urinary elimination of the waste products from the blood.
According to Dr Sande Senyonga of Dama Medical Herbs, the purity of your blood will determine how much your face shines. One of the things you can do is to eat healthily.
Dr. Senyonga says vegetables like cucumber cleanse the blood of the toxic waste. “The best results are got by combining both external and internal results,” he says.
Cucumber can be applied externally on the skin for effective skin results. This is done by rubbing the slices of cucumber on the skin.
Maintaining healthy skin can be done by the person taking for instance berries, watermelons, pawpaws, oranges and other yellow fruits.

Dr. Senyonga says mangoes are particularly important because they do nourish the skin and keep it fresh all the time.
“Mangoes have a lot of vitamin A which is good for the skin,” he says. “A lack of vitamin A leads to dry cracked skin.” The beta-carotene in mangoes also helps in the nourishing of the skin.
Besides consuming Vitamin A, Vitamin E is also good in the promotion of healthy skin. You can find Vitamin E in nuts, spinach, red bell pepper, sunflower seeds, almonds, kiwifruit, vegetable oils, and avocados.
