KAMPALA - Police on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, said they were investigating Kampala socialite Bryan Kirumira, alias Bryan White, over the mysterious death of his girlfriend, Caroline Nalubwama.
Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said Bryan White had since recorded statements and was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in what could have been a fight.
“The territorial Police at Katwe are actively investigating the circumstances under which a one Nalubwama, aged 25, allegedly sustained serious injuries resulting in her death. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased was reportedly at the home of Bryan White, located in Kyamula, Makindye Division, when the incident occurred. She was later rushed to Kiruddu Hospital where she was pronounced dead,” Owoyesigyire said.
He explained that upon receipt of the information, a team of detectives led by the Division Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) officer visited the scene of the crime together with other relevant officers.
The scene was examined, documented, and relevant exhibits were recovered to aid in the ongoing investigations.
“The body of the deceased was conveyed to the City Mortuary, Mulago, for post-mortem examination to establish the actual cause of death. The suspect, who also reportedly sustained injuries during the alleged incident, is currently receiving medical treatment and has recorded a statement to assist in the investigations,” Owoyesigyire added.
He said efforts are underway to retrieve available CCTV footage and interview additional witnesses to piece together the actual sequence of events.
The controversial socialite rose to fame in Uganda’s entertainment industry through his Bryan White Foundation, known for handing out large sums of money to selected artistes ahead of the 2016 general elections.
This is not the first time Bryan White has been in the spotlight. In May 2021, the Human Rights Committee of Parliament ordered his arrest and prosecution for defilement.
The committee report presented on the floor of Parliament said Bryan White violated the human rights of Stella Nandawula, Vivian Mutanda, and Leticia Nabulime, who was 17 years old at the time, among other girls at his now-defunct Bryan White Foundation.
Agnes Taaka, the Woman Member of Parliament for Bugiri district and then committee vice-chairperson, said that White should be arrested and charged with defilement, among other counts.
"Brian Kirumira should be charged with defilement of Leticia Nabulime, a 17-year-old at the time he raped her and got her pregnant, this is according to Section 129 of the Penal Code Act," Taaka noted.
However, no action was taken by police.
