Police in Lira City have launched investigations into the mysterious disappearance of a 33-year-old comedian, Solomon Odyek, popularly known as Ajoka Alango, whose whereabouts remain unknown since the weekend.
According to Police, the disappearance was registered at Lira City East Division Police headquarters following an incident believed to have occurred on January 4, 2026, at an unknown time in Ireda Shamba cell, Lira City East Division.
North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema, said preliminary findings indicate signs of a possible struggle at the victim’s residence.
On Monday, January 5, morning, neighbours woke up to find the victim’s house wide open, with the door curtain pulled down, according to Okema, adding that the house was in disarray, suggesting a struggle.
Okema added that efforts to reach Odyek by phone were unsuccessful as his known mobile phone was switched off or unavailable.
Several items, including a mobile phone, hoofer, laptop, and a camera stand, were also reported missing from the house.
Police officers visited and documented the scene, recorded statements from relevant witnesses, introduced a police dog to aid investigations, and conducted a search within and around the premises.
He also added that during the search, two finger rings and two unidentified mobile phones (one smartphone and one Techno button phone without a battery and SIM cards) were recovered and will aid further investigations.
