Police say they have arrested four suspects in connection with a suspected murder case in which the victim, Tony Ssewakiryanga,25, was reportedly abducted and later found dead.
Speaking to the media on May 4, 2026, at Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala, deputy spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan area Luke Owoyesigyire said investigators recovered key exhibits believed to have been used in the crime.
“We recovered a hammer and a knife suspected to have blood stains, as well as a mobile phone believed to have been used in communication related to the crime,” Owoyesigyire said.
He added that the victim had reportedly been abducted by individuals led by Ibrahim Magara, a builder, who demanded money and forced him to contact his family before his disappearance.
“The body was later recovered on Monday morning and investigations are ongoing. The exhibits, the victim's jumper, phones and a panga, among others, will undergo forensic examination to confirm whether they are linked to the victim,” he said.
The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court.
