Huawei Technologies representatives today visited Vision Group headquarters in a dual-purpose engagement, bidding farewell to outgoing Editor-in-Chief Barbara Kaija and welcoming her successor, Sidney Miria Babanga.
Spokesperson Sooma Mukyala Fouziya and Public Relations Officer Arinda Ronnie led the Huawei delegation, using the occasion to honour Kaija's transformative tenure at the helm of Uganda's largest media house.
Kaija, who stepped down after years of steering Vision Group's editorial direction, was celebrated for her exceptional contribution to shaping Uganda's media landscape, a legacy that has inspired countless journalists and set benchmarks in the industry.

The meeting also served as an official introduction to incoming Editor-in-Chief Sidney Miria Babanga, with Huawei expressing commitment to continued collaboration with the new editorial leadership.
Discussions centred on strengthening the media-tech partnership between Huawei and Vision Group, building on a relationship that has thrived under Kaija's leadership.
The courtesy visit underscored Huawei's appreciation for Vision Group's role in Uganda's information ecosystem and signalled a smooth transition as Babanga takes the reins.
