Pakwach district has been singled out as the worst-performing district in West Nile in the recovery of the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.

Currently, only sh1.3m has been recovered since the disbursement of PDM funds in 2022.

Micheal Oloya, the PDM focal person in Pakwach, says most people in the first and second lot of the PDM disbursement believed the funds were a reward for voting President Yoweri Museveni in 2021.

The woman MP of Pakwach district, Jane Avur Pacutho, and the Chairperson of the National Economy in Parliament, together with her colleague legislator of Jonam, Marshall Godfrey Alenyo OO, organised a meeting for technocrats to ascertain the status of PDM in the district and the constituency.

It was realised that the district is lagging behind in recoveries of the PDM funds.

The leaders asked the technocrats to ensure that they submit signed reports by Monday next week without fail.

Similarly, the RDC Pakwach Stephen Nsubuga Bewayo, said they will use all strategies to recover the funds.
