The Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, has blasted police commanders for failing to enforce anti-coronavirus guidelines in some parts of the country.
Oulanyah agreed with some MPs that the laxity of police commanders made it easy for the alleged terrorists to bomb an eating point in Komamboga, a Kampala suburb.
The bomb, which police said was an improvised device made from nails and other metal fragments, went off on Saturday night, killing one person and injuring three others.
“The activities at night are very loud. The music systems are booming; where are the people who are supposed to listen to this noise and take action? You should not fear to deal with things that will cause problems for our people,” Oulanyah said.
He made the remarks this Wednesday during the plenary session he presided over.
