"This line starts from Muyenga and supply areas of Mutungo and Naguru. Those areas will suffer water shortages. But the moment the flow stops our network people will work on the problem," he added.

KAMPALA - The Kampala National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) general manager, Mahmood Lutaaya, on Saturday, confirmed a team had been dispatched to address massive water leakage at Kibuli, along Prince Kakungulu Road in Kampala.

However, by 4:30pm the team was stranded at the site as the water still formed a fall due to too much pressure.

Save for the nearby drainage, the whole place according to residents would have been flooded.

"This water burst happened at around 3:00pm but up to now the water is still flowing. Imagine the loss!" a security guard at Kibuli Total told New Vision Online.

A few businesses were affected.

However, Lutaaya said, "We have already closed the water from Muyenga. But the water which is flowing was already in the line."

He added that because the pipe was big and the water was too much, it would take some time for the water flow to stop.

"This line starts from Muyenga and supply areas of Mutungo and Naguru. Those areas will suffer water shortages. But the moment the flow stops our network people will work on the problem," he added.
