GULU - The Gulu Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru, the Vice President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) for northern Uganda, on charges of incitement of violence.
Dr. Zedriga Waru, 64, appeared before Chief Magistrate Augustine Alule Koma on Friday, following a week of uncertainty surrounding her whereabouts amid heightened political tension ahead of the national presidential election polling day.
Her disappearance had sparked widespread speculation and concern among supporters and political observers.
According to court documents, Dr. Zedriga Waru is charged under Section 79 (1) of the Penal Code Act, Cap 128, which relates to incitement of violence.
