NSSF drops Temangalo settlement with Nzeyi, wants 55 acres back
Ayota explained that the August proposal had been conditional on obtaining the necessary approvals, but further consultations strengthened the fund’s preference to retain its property. “Our feedback to Mr Nzeyi was we need to keep our land. So that’s where we are in terms of the discussions that went through,” he said. Martin Muzaale (Buzaaya county) welcomed the change, saying NSSF should retain land it had paid for rather than consider alternative arrangements.
NSSF managing director Patrick Ayota on Wednesday told Parliament’s Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) that the Fund had reached a fresh understanding with Nzeyi under which he would return all 55 acres, although the agreement is yet to be formalised.
