New details emerge on Saleh-Besigye talks

“What I say now, efforts on the side of Besigye have been made, and are still being made. All I know is that from Gen. Saleh’s side, efforts are being made to settle this issue because at the end of the day, healing is very important. Besigye must get out of prison, recover fully, and start engaging with the community,” Ogenga said. The discussions, he added, aim at exploring a political resolution to the case involving Besigye, his aide Obeid Lutale and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officer, Capt. Denis Oyaa Oola.
