Ndiga clan murder suspects’ trial starts today
The head of the court, Justice David Matovu, will handle the matter. State attorney Carol Tabaro will prosecute the case while lawyer Richard Kumbuga will defend the accused persons.

The trial of five suspects charged with the murder of Eng. Daniel Kakeeto Bbosa, the former head of the Ndiga (Sheep) Clan, starts today with plea taking at the Criminal Division of the High Court in Kampala.
The accused persons are; Luggya Bbosa Tabula, Ezra Mayanja, Noah Lujja, Harriet Nakiguli and Joseph Nakabale. They have been on remand at Luzira Prison since March 11, 2024.

According to the charge sheet, Lujja is a mason from Kabanga village in Mpigi town council, Nakiguli is a peasant from Nkere zone in Kawempe division, Kampala, Nakabale is a painter from Gala village in Mpigi town council, while Mayanja is a resident of Kiganda zone in Kawempe division, Kampala.
On July 30, 2024, police recovered suspected human remains, including 17 skulls, during a raid on shrines allegedly owned by Tabula in Kabanga village, Mpigi district.
The operation followed a tip-off from a resident, who became suspicious of a metallic suitcase reportedly kept inside one of the shrines.
Allegations
The five are charged with murder, contrary to Sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act, Cap. 120. The offence carries a maximum sentence of death upon conviction.
Museveni honours civilian
On March 4, 2024, President Yoweri Museveni awarded Abdul Katabaazi with the Nalubaale Medal for his bravery in pursuing and helping to capture the suspects linked to Bbosa's murder.
“I want to congratulate you; you have done a heroic job. You have now become a bush war fighter like me,” Museveni said while presenting the award.
Katabaazi, a plumber and motorcycle rider from Kikandwa zone in Lungujja, chased and helped apprehend the attackers shortly after they allegedly shot Bbosa.
Bbosa, 72, who was also the director of Transa Electricals, was gunned down while driving towards his home in Kikandwa zone, Lungujja, Rubaga division.
