NAKASONGOLA - A farm worker in Nakasongola District has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday spine-chilling incident in which his workmate was slain.

John Isoke of Kyanigita village, Nabiswera sub-county, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.

This was moments after the police discovered the decapitated body dumped at a farm at Kyanigita village in Nabiswera sub-county in Nakasongola District.

The Savannah police regional police spokesman, Samuel Twineamazima, on Tuesday identified the victim as Herbert Ameir,  who worked at the same farm at Kyanigita village.

According to Twineamazima, the incident occurred around 2:00 pm.

Quoting sources, Twineamazima said the deceased was last seen at the same farm earlier in the day. He added that Ameir's beheaded body was discovered by one Ketty Namugga, a farm manager in the area, who immediately alerted police.

He also revealed that the police later on arrested Isoke after they found him carrying Ameire's decapitated head in a bag. It is alleged that he was taking the head to Kampala for a buyer in Kisenyi suburbs.

Twineamazima said that on being arrested with a human head, the suspect was taken to Migyera Police Station.

Police also recovered a blood-stained panga believed to have been used in the murder.

He said the deceased's body was found lying in a pool of blood inside a mud and wattle hut where he lived alone. He said that the farm is isolated with no immediate neighbours.
