MBARARA - Mbarara City North MP Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari has scoffed at rivals, saying they are playing cheap politics by criticising him for not attending funerals in his constituency.

Instead, he has asked them to focus on issues aimed at developing communities.

Addressing Christians in several churches he attended in his constituency on Sunday, Rukaari said: “It is a sign of togetherness to be with people in times of sorrow and joy. I have attended some burials physically, but have also sent my condolences where I have failed to attend.

My role as an MP is to legislate and oversee government programmes in this area, not attending funerals.”
