During the talks, the two leaders are expected to discuss diplomatic and economic cooperation, with particular focus on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project. The 1,345-kilometre pipeline, currently under development, is a key joint infrastructure project between Uganda and Tanzania.

The discussions will cover broader regional and international issues of mutual interest, including trade, security and infrastructure development.

According to a statement issued by Tanzania's Directorate of Presidential Communications, the discussion between the two leaders will focus on enhancing cooperation across key sectors of mutual interest.

The statement said the two leaders will review progress made in existing areas of collaboration and explore new opportunities to deepen ties, particularly in economic development, energy, trade and regional stability.

Social ties between the two nations also remain strong, with cross-border trade, migration, education and cultural exchanges reinforcing people-to-people relations that underpin official diplomatic engagement.
