Explaining the genesis of the national prayer breakfast in Uganda, Museveni said he had gathered the idea of a national prayer breakfast from the USA, where he had visited with a team of Ugandans including religious leaders such as Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala.
“When I went to the US, I saw they were doing exactly what we should have done, bringing together all these religious groups (Catholics, Anglicans, Muslims, Orthodox),” Museveni said.
The national prayer breakfast was attended by Rachael Ruto, the First Lady of Kenya, First Lady Janet Museveni, Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, cabinet ministers, members of parliament, members of the diplomatic corps and religious leaders.
