President Yoweri Museveni Thursday launched National Social Security Fund (NSSF) NSSF Housing project in Lubowa, Wakiso District.

He commended NSSF for taking up big investment projects in the country.

"I am very happy with this project. This is a good initiative; I want to congratulate NSSF for this big investment," the president said.

The project dubbed Solana Lifestyle and Residences (Lubowa Housing Project) is worth $400m (about sh1.5 trillion).

According to NSSF, the Solana Lifestyle & Residences is a self-sustaining satellite city with mixed-use housing and commercial developments on approximately 600 acres of the Fund’s owned land in Lubowa.

When completed, the Solana Lifestyle and Residences will be the largest project in East Africa, comprising of 2,750 residences, that is, apartments, townhouses, bungalows, and villas.
