Muhabura Diocese receives Mbitse as third bishop

Prior to his election as bishop, Mbitse was Gisorora Church of Uganda archdeacon and the head of mission and evangelism in the Diocese of Muhabura.

Hundreds of Christians, local leaders, and other dignitaries are gathered at Seseme Cathedral grounds in Kisoro district to welcome the third bishop of Muhabura Diocese the Rev. Can. Godfrey Mbitse.

Mbitse replaces Crammer Mugisha who has been bishop since July 2007.

The event is being presided over by Church of Uganda Archbishop Dr Stephen Kaziimba. Vice-President Jessica Alupo is representing President Yoweri Museveni as chief guest.

Prior to his election as bishop, Mbitse was Gisorora Church of Uganda archdeacon and the head of mission and evangelism in the Diocese of Muhabura.

During the day's sermon, Kinkizi Diocese Bishop Dan Zoreka asked the newly elected bishop to serve people humbly. He also asked Christians to continue loving the new bishop.
